ChipsandMore is bridging the gap

The beginning of the success story of independent distributor ChipsandMore dates back to the year 1997, when the company was founded in Budapest, Hungary. With the aspiration to provide quick help to customers in bottleneck situations, we were able to bridge a decisive gap in the electronic market.   

Worldwide Expansion
        
To counter the growing demand both from within Europe and abroad, we opened our first local branch in America in 2000. This move made it possible to respond even faster to customer enquiries.  

However, our business growth did not end at this point. In order to be able to serve the economically important automotive supply industry with first rate service as well, ChipsandMore introduced another subsidiary directly in the heart of Europe. Since 2002 we carry out high standard critical part management for our clients from Braunschweig in Germany.
   
Only shortly after this, the new German subsidiary was transformed into the official headquarter of the firm. This was done in conjunction with the relocation of CEO Thomas H.-P. Schwarz, who formerly managed ChipsandMore from San Diego in California and Budapest. The main office underwent a complete renovation and extension process to prepare itself for the business challenges that faces a global operating company headquarter. With the introduction of local offices in Shanghai and Hongkong, the firm further successfully established itself on the Asian market.

The year 2004 marked a milestone in the thriving story of our company as leading Semiconductor manufacturer NXP chose ChipsandMore as their preferred independent distributor. Since this time, our company maintains very close ties to NXP. Nevertheless,  this close relationship is but one example of many successful ties to semiconductors or providers of EMS (Electronic Manufacturing Services) and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturing) services.

In the immediate future, we aspire to consolidate our presence on the Asian market. For the current business year we envisage the introduction of local branches both in Singapore and Dubai. Already implemented is the idea of another sales office in America. Hence, in spring 2012 we are able to announce the opening of a local branch office in Sao Paulo, Brazil.  

However, ChipsandMore has also set out to bridge a gap in another field of business.  The year 2009 saw the launch of ISO-certified warehousing services. Now, we are prepared to tackle all kind of logistic challenges as well. This concept is further executed in our new business unit – LogisticsandMore.
